The fine silk that we offer you, creation of Samatoa Lotus Textiles, is distinguished from boiled silk by its firmer texture and having more body. Silk is a natural<\/strong> and renewable material<\/strong>, biodegradable<\/strong> and less polluting to produce<\/strong> (source: Guide du v\u00eatement responsable - 2008, \u00c9quiterre<\/a>). In addition, it is fair trade or ethical<\/strong> because it is handmade according to an ancestral know-how by the artisans who are paid a living wage<\/strong>, have trade union rights<\/strong>, paid leave<\/strong>, and health insurance<\/strong>, not to mention a safe working environment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
